COMPUTER BASICS

Computer Basics (Career Focus credit for 9th – 12th) Two sections offered – one for JH and one for HS

 Class Requirements: Lap top (must bring to class it will be counted as part of their participation and will be counted against them if it is not brought unless previous arrangements are made); Microsoft Office 2013 program (this includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher, One Note, and Access)  exact program name is Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium is the cheapest way to go it is $99 this will last the student and grow with them. 

Students will start with basics including computer, internet research, etc. Students will learn Word, Excel, Power Point, One Note. Students will be learning the ins and outs of each program, learning tricks, how to use it for school work, writing papers and power points in preparation for college work.  We will also be discussing internet safety, and learning more about social medias, blogs and how those can help you in your education, and finding jobs.
Cost: $50.00 a month
Parents must purchase the software necessary for the class
Students need to bring their laptop to each class.

Spanish 1 introduces students to beginning Spanish. Students will learn how to ask and answer questions in Spanish, give and follow directions, purchase items, make small talk, and present the gospel. The textbook is rich with activities to help students gain confidence with the Spanish language.

SPANISH 2

Curriculum in Bob Jones University Press Spanish 2 (Text Book and Activity Book Required)

In Spanish 2, students learn to communicate comfortably at an intermediate level with Spanish-speaking people in a variety of setting: a store, a bank, an airport, a hotel, a doctor’s office, an auto shop, and on the mission field. Grammar, pronunciation, writing, listening, verb tenses, and moods are emphasized in a variety of exercises and Spanish dialogues.

SPEECH

Includes discussions of the communication process, audience analysis, and public speaking guidelines. A one-semester course which involves topic choice, research, organization, and effective communication. Speaking projects include introductions, interviews, demonstration speeches, declamations, informative speeches, devotional speeches, and persuasive speeches. Class will introduce debate.

This is a year long course.
